Sahih Hadith Regarding a Mother who shows mercy towards her Child
Anas ibn Malik said, "A woman came to 'A'isha and 'A'isha gave her three dates. She gave each of her two children a date and kept one date for herself. The children ate the two dates and then looked at their mother. She took her date and split it into two and gave each child a half of it. The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, came and 'A'isha told him about it. He said, 'Are you surprised at that? Allah will show her mercy because of her mercy towards her child.'" [Al Arab Al-Mufrad 89]
Hadith Regarding Mortgaging
Narrated `Aisha:
The Prophet (ﷺ) bought some foodstuff on credit for a limited period and mortgaged his armor for it. [Sahih al-Bukhari 2509]
Hadith Regarding a Ruler who is treacherous to his People
It has been narrated on the authority of Hasan who said:
Ubaidullah bin Ziyad visited Ma'qil bin Yasir al-Muzani in his last iliness. Ma'qil said (to him): I am narrating to you a tradition I heard from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). If I knew that I am to survive this illness. I would, not narrate it to you. I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: If God appointed anyone ruler over a people and he died while he was still treacherous to his people, God would forbid his entry into Paradise. [Sahih Muslim 142e]
Sahih Hadith Regarding having Firm Faith on Allah
It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said, attributing it to the Prophet (ﷺ):
“The stronger believer is better and more beloved to Allah than the weak believer, although both are good. Strive to seek that which will benefit you and do not feel helpless. If something overwhelms you, then say: Qaddarallah, wa ma sha'a fa’al (It is the decree of Allah and what He wills He does). And beware of (saying) ‘If only,’ for ‘If only’ opens the door to Satan.” [Sunan Ibn Majah 4168]
Hadith Regarding Period of Stay one should offer Shortened Prayers
Narrated Ibn Abbas:
The Prophet (ﷺ) once stayed for nineteen days and prayed shortened prayers. So when we traveled (and stayed) for nineteen days, we used to shorten the prayer but if we traveled (and stayed) for a longer period we used to offer the full prayer. [Sahih al-Bukhari 1080]
Hadith Regarding Seeking Refuge from Allah when seeing wind and dark clouds and rejoicing at rain
Ata' b. Rabah reported on the authority of 'A'isha, the wife of the Messenger of Allah (way peace be upon him), who said:
Whenever the wind was stormy, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to say: O Allah! I ask Thee for what is good in it, and the good which it contains, and the good of that which it was sent for. I seek refuge with Thee from what is evil in it, what evil it contains, and the evil of that what it was sent for; and when there was a thunder and lightning in the sky, his colour underwent a change, and he went out and in, backwards and forwards; and when the rain came, he felt relieved, and I noticed that (the sign of relief) on his face. 'A'isha asked him (about it) and he said: It may be as the people of 'Ad said: When they saw a cloud formation coming to their valley they said:" It is a cloud which would give us rain" (Qur'an, xlvi. 24). [Sahih Muslim 899b]
Sahih Hadith Regarding Prohibition of slapping cheeks and tearing clothes during calamity
Abdullah narrated that:
The Prophet said: "He who slaps (his) cheeks, tears (his) clothes and calls with the call of the Jahliyyah is not one of us." [Jami Al-Tirmidhi 999]
Hadith Regarding Virtues of Offering Tahajjud Salah
Narrated Abu Huraira:
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) (p.b.u.h) said, "Our Lord, the Blessed, the Superior, comes every night down on the nearest Heaven to us when the last third of the night remains, saying: "Is there anyone to invoke Me, so that I may respond to invocation? Is there anyone to ask Me, so that I may grant him his request? Is there anyone seeking My forgiveness, so that I may forgive him?" [Sahih al-Bukhari 1145]
Political Situation of the Ummah
Conflict between Saudi Arabia and Ansarallah in Yemen
In the last few months the conflict between Saudi Arabia and the Houthis has escalated. This conflict did not start a few months ago infact it has quite a tragic history which spans about a decade and a half. Before discussing this conflict I would discuss little bit of history of the Zaydi branch of Shia Islam to which the Houthis belong to. Later on I would discuss briefly about how this conflict began which would help a lot to analyze the current situation in Yemen. I would also give some proposals to resolve this conflict. The Zaydis are a sub sect of Shia Islam. They are named Zaydi because they follow the teachings of Imam Zayd bin Ali Bin Husseyn who was a great scholar and Imam belonging to the noble household of the Prophet Muhammad PBUH. Although the Zaydis are part of Shia Islam but they differ from the rest of the Shia in many of their beliefs and customs. Infact many of their beliefs are closer to the Sunnis as compared to the Shias. Hence many people often refer to them as a bridge between Sunnis and Shiaism. The Zaydis are predominantly found in Yemen. In the past multiple Zaydi dynasties have ruled parts of Yemen for about a thousand years. The Zaydi rule in Yemen ended in 1962 after which the Republic of Yemen was formed. By the way at that Saudi Arabia was backing the Zaydis and arming them against the newly formed Republic of Yemen which was backed by Egypt. Egypt at the time was ruled by Gamal Abdel Nasser who was a Socialist Arab Nationalist and allied with the Soviet Union. So Egypt was supporting Republic of Yemen. Saudi Arabia at the time pursued a Pan Islamic policy so it was supporting the Zaydis tribes of Yemen against the Socialist Arab Nationalist Republic of Yemen which was backed by Egypt and the Soviet Union. There are other parts of the history of Zaydis which I would not discuss to keep this article as short as possible. The reason why I described a little bit of historical background of the Zaydis is so that people can understand that they are not just spontaneous sect that came out of nowhere rather they have a long history which spans for centuries. In the 1990s Saudi Arabia tried to export Wahabism in those areas of Yemen which were inhabited by Zaydi tribes. One of these tribes was the Houthis. The Houthis kept on resisting the Salafi influence in their areas. Many of their people including their leader Hussein al-Houthi was persecuted by the Saudi allied Yemeni government. The then Yemeni government which was backed by Saudi Arabia tried to suppress this movement and persecuted thousands of Zaydi Muslims. Anyhow their resistance continued and Iran was helping them during all this time. In 2011 when the Arab spring arrived in Yemen they formed an alliance with other Zaydi tribes in Northern Yemen. This alliance was named as Ansarallah and many Sunnis were also part of this alliance. The current conflict in Yemen between the Ansarallah and Saudi Arabia is an extension of the civil war that started in Yemen back in 2011. Although there are many other aspects of the civil war but I would not discuss them in this article in order to keep this article as short as possible. Anyhow till 2014 Ansarallah managed to capture Sanaa and many other key areas from the Saudi backed Yemeni government. After which Saudi Arabia helped the Yemeni government to gain control of Sanaa and various areas captured by Ansarallah but they were unable to retake those areas. Saudi Arabia also conducted airstrikes in those areas which were under Ansarallah's control which has resulted in deaths of countless Yemeni civilians. Saudi Arabia blockaded these areas as well. All these actions have resulted in millions of people including women and children dying of hunger and malnutrition. Since Ansarallah was allied with Iran so Iran also helped them by supplying weapons and money to resist Saudi Arabia. Ansarallah remained quite resilient and managed to resist Saudi Arabia's brutal campaign against it. The war continued untill 2022 when UN mediated a ceasefire between Ansarallah and Saudi backed government in Yemen. During this war Ansarallah also committed atrocities against innocent civilians who opposed its rule but its crimes were not as much as the crimes committed by Saudi Arabia and its allies. The ceasefire continued even when Ansarllah was shooting missiles at Israel. The ceasefire was broken when Saudi backed government in Yemen conducted airstrikes in Sanaa international airport in order to stop the Ansarllah leadership from landing which was returning after attending Khamanei's funeral. As a result of which the Ansarallah responded by not only blocking Saudi ships from crossing the Bab Al Mandab but by also targeting Saudi Arabia's oil facilities. While Saudi Arabia has conducted several airstrikes against Ansarallah but they have unable to stop Ansarallah's advance. During the recent conflict Ansarallah has captured several new territories which includes the coastal areas of Northern Yemen. This gives them even more control of Bab Al Mandab strait. Due to this quick response of Ansarallah many Saudi allied forces have retreated leaving their positions undefended against as a result of which Ansarallah have been capturing more territory with ease. This is because the Saudi allied forces lack the courage to fight Ansarallah.
Ansarallah have committed grave crimes in Yemen against those who oppose its rule for which they should be ashamed and should apologize but while we highlight Ansarallah's crimes in Yemen it would be unfair to turn a blind eye towards the crimes that Saudi Arabia and the UAE have committed in Yemen. Yemen has been devastated by the war imposed by Saudi Arabia and the UAE. It is the poorest country in the world. There is widespread famine in the country and innocent people are dying as a result of hunger and poverty. Since Saudi Arabia declared war on Ansarallah back in 2015 they have conducted airstrikes targeting areas which are under the control of Ansarallah which has resulted in the deaths of countless innocent Yemenis. Alongside this the Saudis imposed a blockade in Ansarallah controlled areas as a result of which the economic situation in these areas has worsened. As a result more and more people are dieing due to hunger and malnutrition. As I said earlier that Ansarallah have committed crimes in Yemen for which they must be held accountable but they have also stood besides the Palestinians in their resistance against Israel. After the 7th of October, 2023 Ansarallah repeated struck missiles at Israel and also targeting American naval vessel passing through the region. If we criticize Ansarallah for their crimes then we should also appreciate them for standing for Justice. But a question arises that what were Saudi Arabia and the UAE doing when our innocent Palestinian were being oppressed? They were investing trillions of dollars in America and also hosting American military bases in their own countries. These are the same military bases that America has used to attack Muslim countries like Afghanistan, Iraq, Yemen and Syria resulting in the killing of millions of our Muslim brothers. Yes the Ansarallah should apologize for their mistakes but shouldn't Saudi Arabia and the UAE also apologize for the treachery they have committed with the Ummah. Saudi Arabia stopped the Imams of the two Holy Mosques of Makkah and Madinah from praying for the Palestinians. Saudi Arabia very often prohibits those people who criticize its wrong policies from entering Saudi Arabia as a result of which they can not perform Hajj or Umrah or visit the two Holy cities of Makkah and Madinah. People perform Hajj or Umrah to worship Allah in order to please him so who has given the Saudi government the right to stop people from worshipping Allah? Whereas Saudi government does issue visas to Non Muslims to visit Makkah and Madinah but they do not allow Muslims who criticize their government from even entering Saudi Arabia. Just recently Saudi Arabia has also updated its educational curriculum removing anything which calls for Jihad upon Muslims and they have also removed those texts from their curriculum which calls Israel as the occupier of Palestine. It seems as if the Saudi government is brainwashing their children so it is easy for them to normalize with Israel The same can be said about the UAE which already has good diplomatic relations with Israel. They were also complicit in Israel's genocide of Palestinians. The UAE has also been involved in war crimes in Sudan. I question both Saudi Arabia and the UAE that why are you forming alliances with the enemies of Islam? Don't you know what Allah has prohibited Muslims from allying with the enemies of Islam?
Whoever allies themselves with Allah, His Messenger, and fellow believers, then it is certainly Allah’s party that will prevail. [Surah Al-Maidah Verse no.56]
O believers Do not seek the guardianship of those given the Scripture before you and the disbelievers who have made your faith a mockery and amusement. And be mindful of Allah if you are ˹truly˺ believers. [Surah Al-Maidah Verse no.57]
Why is it that Saudi Arabia and the UAE are always ready to fight and oppress innocent Muslims? Why is it that they ignore the cries of our oppressed Muslim brothers in Palestine and elsewhere. The reason for this is that they fear America more than they fear Allah. They call themselves Muslims and yet ignore the sufferings of the Ummah and in many ways they are the cause of the sufferings of the Ummah. Saudi Arabia has immense wealth which they can use to financially support poor Muslim countries but they instead use this money in building lavish palaces. They very happily invest this money in America and Europe. Are the Saudis and by extension all the rich Muslim countries ignorant of the fact that at the day of Judgement they would be held accountable infront of Allah for the wealth and power that Allah granted them? Do they think that at the day of Judgment Allah will not question their deeds. Are they ignorant that the wealth Allah Almighty has granted them is a trial and it should be spent on charity and in other acts which please Allah. Allah says in the Quran;
Your wealth and children are only a test, but Allah ˹alone˺ has a great reward. [Surah At-Taghabun verse no.15]
So be mindful of Allah to the best of your ability, hear and obey, and spend in charity—that will be best for you. And whoever is saved from the selfishness of their own souls, it is they who are ˹truly˺ successful. [Surah At-Taghabun verse no.16]
To give charity publicly is good, but to give to the poor privately is better for you, and will absolve you of your sins. And Allah is All-Aware of what you do. [Surah Al-Baqarah verse no.271]
If people think that Ansarallah attacking at Saudi Arabia is wrong than what about Saudi Arabia conducting airstrikes in those areas which are ruled by Ansarallah. These strikes have resulted in the deaths of hundreds of thousands of innocent Muslims since the civil war in Yemen began. Since this conflict began a couple of months ago Saudi Arabia has conducted about 760 airstrikes in areas under Ansarallah's rule. If Ansarallah's blockade of Saudi Arabia is wrong than isn't the Saudi blockade of areas under Ansarallah's rule also wrong? For the last couple of days some of the puppet scholars of the Saudi regime have been doing propoganda accusing Ansarallah of attacking the Holy city of Makkah. For which they have provided no proof. How can someone trust this if Saudi Arabia hasn't provided any proof of such an attack. It would be illogical to trust the Saudi government on this if they haven't provided any proof of this attack. Only Allah knows but I still call upon the Ummah not to trust the Saudi government because this could be just propoganda to hide their crimes and their defeat at the hands of Ansarallah. Many people say that Ansarallah is a proxy of Iran which is true. However the acts and the crimes committed by Saudi Arabia, the UAE and rest of gulf states serve as a clear proof that they are also proxies of America. If being a proxy of America is fine than being a proxy of Iran is also fine. The Saudi government champions itself as the custodian of the two Holy Mosques of Makkah and Madinah but it also organizes dance concerts in various cities across Saudi Arabia while our Muslim brothers around the world are being oppressed. In these concerts there are female singers as well who sing and dance while people both men and women come to watch them. Isn't this haram? Isn't it contrary to the Quran and Sunnah? The Saudi government indulges in various acts which are haram and contrary to the Quran and Sunnah and yet they have the audacity to call themselves the custodian of the two Holy Mosques of Makkah and Madinah. This is just shameful. I call upon the Saudi government to stop indulging in those acts which cause Allah's displeasure. Fear Allah and obey his command and act as the custodians of the Two Holy Mosques of Makkah and Madinah. Do not act as the custodian of America's interests. If you keep on disobeying Allah than you would have to face the consequences in this world and you would also be held accountable at the Day of Judgment in front of Allah Almighty.
The Effects of this conflict on Innocent Yemeni civilians
According to the UN one in four screened children in Yemen are undergoing acute malnutrition. Since the start of this conflict up until 2025 about 19.5 million Yemenis have been displaced which is quite alarming. This number is expected to rise as the escalation started recently. When we discuss this conflict we shouldn't forget these innocent people who are being crushed under the shadows of this conflict. The actions committed by Ansarallah, Saudi Arabia and the Saudi aligned government resulted in the deaths of countless Yemeni civilians regardless of their sectarian or tribal background. For this all of them should be ashamed and should be held accountable. By the way I would also like to mention that the crimes committed by Saudi Arabia and the UAE can be compared to the crimes committed by Iran and its proxies in Iraq and Syria.
Proposals to Resolve the Conflict in Yemen
Just like in many of my articles I have called upon Iran to apologize to the people of Syria and Iraq for the crimes Iran committed in these countries. I also call upon Saudi Arabia and the UAE to apologize to the people of Yemen for the crimes they committed in Yemen. I call upon the Saudi government to have a dialogue with Ansarallah. If the Saudis can invest trillions of dollars in America which is the biggest enemy of Muslims than why do they have a problem in holding talks with Ansarallah eventhough it is Saudi Arabia and the UAE that has wronged Ansarallah. Similarly I call upon Ansarallah and the other Yemenis as well to forgive Saudi Arabia and the UAE with open heart. During Ansarallah's war with Israel when they were repeatedly targeting American ships they held talks with Americans in Oman on various occasions so if they can hold talks with Americans they should also not refrain from holding talks with Saudi Arabia. Here I would like to quite a verse from the Holy Quran in which Allah says;
"And the retribution for an evil act is an evil one like it, but whoever pardons and makes reconciliation - his reward is [due] from Allah . Indeed, He does not like wrongdoers." [Surah al-Shura verse no.40]
I also call upon Pakistan and Türkiye who signed a defense agreement with Saudi Arabia last month not to support Saudi Arabia in their unjust war in Yemen and put pressure on Saudi Arabia to stop this war. Allah says in the Quran;
And if two groups of believers fight each other, then make peace between them. But if one of them transgresses against the other, then fight against the transgressing group until they ˹are willing to˺ submit to the rule of Allah. If they do so, then make peace between both ˹groups˺ in all fairness and act justly. Surely Allah loves those who uphold justice. [Surah Al-Hujurat Verse no.9]
Both Pakistan and Türkiye should not fight Saudi Arabia's war and kill innocent people of Yemen for some financial gains. Instead they should mediate between Ansarallah and Saudi Arabia. I also call upon foreign countries like Saudi Arabia, Iran and the UAE not to interfere in Yemen's internal affairs and let them decide their future for themselves. The Prophet Muhammad SAW praised the people of Yemen for their faith and wisdom so they are intelligent enough to decide their future themselves. I also call upon the various factions in Yemen to stop fighting as this war has resulted in killing of innocent Yemenis from both sides. Instead you should hold talks with each other and resolve this conflict. You should not allow foreign countries to interfere in your internal affairs.
Mecca Defence Agreement
In my previous article I wrote extensively on the Mecca Defence Agreement signed between Türkiye, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. As of now not much has been decided regarding the rules and regulations of this agreement or that how it will be implemented. This is quite natural because such agreements usually take time to settle so we shouldn't be hasty about it. In my previous article I discussed several proposals to make this agreement beneficial to the Ummah. Of course there could be many other proposals even better than my proposals that could be used to make this agreement beneficial for the Ummah. It is better for you to read it so that you can understand what I am going to discuss now. An unfortunate reality that will have a negative impact on this agreement is that many Muslim leaders are cowards who fear America more than they fear Allah. Alongside this they are also treacherous and care only about their own power and wealth. If they cared about the Ummah and feared Allah then they would not have allowed our brothers in Palestine, Kashmir, East Türkistan and elsewhere to be oppressed. A couple of days ago American President Donald Trump who is probably one of the biggest enemies of Islam met with leaders of various Muslim countries at the sidelines of the UN general assembly session in Newyork. The way the Muslim leaders greeted Trump by standing up from their chairs was just shameful for the Ummah. I ask the leaders of the Ummah that do you not know that he is the oppressor and killer of countless Muslims? How can such an evil man be respected by you? I call upon the leaders of the Ummah to fear Allah instead of fearing America, correct your mistakes, work to establish justice, obey the Quran and the Sunnah instead of obeying your worldly desires. At the beginning of my article I mentioned a Hadith of Prophet Muhammad SAW regarding treacherous rulers so each and every Muslim leader should read this Hadith and fear Allah. If you don't improve yourselves and keep on betraying the Ummah then remember that your governments or rule will one day come to an end and you would be replaced by those who are more worthy than you to lead the Ummah. Then you will have to face the consequences of your treacherous behavior and your inaction to establish justice not only in this life but in the life here after as well. If you are incapable to lead the Ummah then step a side and hand over the leadership of the Ummah that are more capable than you to lead the Ummah.
O Allah guide the rulers of the Ummah and if their is no guidance in their fate then replace them with those who are worthy to rule the Ummah. O Allah grant Muslims courage to stand up to their rulers if they do something unlawful. O Allah unite the Ummah and eradicate the differences that are present between different Muslim countries. O Allah grant patience, strength and steadfastness to our Muslim brothers fighting oppression in Palestine, Kashmir, East Turkistan, Yemen, Myanmar, Iran, Sudan and elsewhere. O Allah give the Muslim Ummah the strength, courage and faith to help those who are being oppressed around the world.
