In this article, I have written about Hadith Regarding Prohibition of Betrayal, Hadith Regarding Virtues of Performing Jihad, Hadith Regarding Significance of Spending on one's family, Sahih Hadith Regarding Virtue of going to the Mosque, Sahih Hadith Regarding Prohibition of preventing women from going to the Mosque, Hadith Regarding Prohibition of Doing Shirk(Worshipping someone besides Allah).

Hadith no.280

Hadith Regarding Prohibition of Betrayal

It has been narrated on the authority of Ibn 'Umar that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:

When Allah will gather together, on the Day of Judgment, all the earlier and later generations of mankind, a flag will be raised (to mark off) every person guilty of breach of faith, and it will be announced that this is the perfidy of so and so, son of so and so (to attract the attention of people to his guilt). [Sahih Muslim 1735a]

Hadith no.281

Hadith Regarding Virtues of Performing Jihad

It is narrated on the authority of Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that a companion of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was passing through a mountainous path where a small spring of sweet water was flowing. He liked that place very much. He thought, "How good it would be if I could live here in seclusion, away from people." Then he thought that he should not do this without the permission of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). So he went to the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and mentioned this to him. You (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Do not do this, because your staying in Jihad is better than praying for sixty years while staying in your home. Are you not pleased that Allah Almighty should forgive you and admit you to Paradise? Fight in the way of Allah Almighty. Whoever fights in the way of Allah Almighty is surely a resident of Paradise."

** This Hadith is Sahih (authentic) according to the criteria of Imam Muslim (may Allah have mercy on him) but it is not narrated in Sahih Sittah (the six most authentic books of Hadith). [Mustadrak Al Hakim 2382]

Hadith no.282

Hadith Regarding Significance of Spending on one's family

Narrated Abu Mas`ud Al-Ansari:

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "When a Muslim spends something on his family intending to receive Allah's reward it is regarded as Sadaqa(charity) for him." [Sahih al-Bukhari 5351]

Hadith no.283

Sahih Hadith Regarding Virtue of going to the Mosque

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:

"When a man goes out of his house to his Masjid, one foot records a good deed and the other erases a bad deed." [Sunan Nasai 705]

Hadith no.284

Sahih Hadith Regarding Prohibition of preventing women from going to the Mosque

It was narrated from Salim that his father said:

"The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'When the wife of any one of you asks for permission to go to the Masjid, do not stop her.'" [Sunan Nasai 706]

Hadith no.285

Hadith Regarding Prohibition of Doing Shirk(Worshipping someone besides Allah)

Narrated `Abdullah:

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "Anyone who dies worshipping others along with Allah will definitely enter the Fire." I said, "Anyone who dies worshipping none along with Allah will definitely enter Paradise." [Sahih al-Bukhari 1238]

My views on the Current Political Situation of the Ummah

A couple of days ago Saudia Arabia signed a defence deal with Pakistan whereby attack on one country will be considered an attack on the other. I will not discuss the details of this deal. This was probably done as result of the Israeli attacks on Qatar. Pakistan has always supported and trained Saudi military and always stepped up to safeguard the sanctity of the Holy cities of Makkah and Madina. It remains to be seen whether this deal is for the protection of the Saudi royal family or the protection of the Holy cities. Pakistan will surely do anything to protect Saudia Arabia if it has a security threat but a big question here is that will the Saudis also help Pakistan financial and militarily if Pakistan is under a security threat? It is an unfortunate reality that such type of deal is made when the sovereignty of a wealthy Gulf state is violated but no such deal was made with the Palestinians who are facing genocide and oppression for the last seven decades. Infact for over one and a half year the Pakistani government was silent on the genocide taking place in Gaza and even now just for the sake rhetoric they voice for a 'two-state solution'. The stance of Pakistani government on Palestine is quite opposite to the stance of the Pakistani people who have deep pain for what is happening in Gaza. Similarly there have also been multiple reports of Saudia Arabia allegedly shooting down Houthi drones which were meant to strike Israel. Let's just pray to Allah that this deal yields something beneficial for the Palestinians and for rest of the Ummah.

From the last couple of days there have also been talks of a Muslim 'peace keeping force' to be sent to Palestinians which is just ridiculous. There is already a peace keeping force in Palestine known as Palestine Liberation Organization which is nothing but an Israeli puppet that suppresses Palestinians on behalf of Israel and they are more beneficial to Israel then they are to the Palestinians. Muslim leaders need to understand that Palestine does not need a peace keeping force as Israel does not want peace in Palestine it wants to kick Palestinians out of there land just like it has been doing steadily for the last seven decades. If they don't want peace then why are you striving for Peace with them. There are two solutions for the Palestinian crisis and one among them is that there should be a Muslim military force like NATO. I am not against this concept of a joint Military force comprising of Muslim nations. Infact I have written in favor of this idea in many of my articles but my concern is that such force should not only be limited for the protection of the Muslim rulers or some wealthy Gulf states but rather it should be for the protection of each and every Muslim who is facing oppression in any part of the world. The second solution is that all the Muslim nations  should provide financial and military aid to Hamas and other liberation organization that are performing Jihad against Israel. According to a Hadith of Prophet Muhammad SAW one who helps someone performing Jihad will get the same reward as the one who performs Jihad. Unfortunately Muslim rulers still do not appear serious in combating Israel because if they were serious then they would have acted on at least one of the two solutions that I have mentioned above but sadly many of them are voicing for a two state solution which is unpractical as even the Israelis and the Palestinians are not in favor of this. There is only one state solution in Palestine and the Israeli occupation needs to end. The Zionist do not belong to Palestine but instead they belong to Europe from where they came from to occupy Palestine.

An important update regarding the Samud Flotilla which is on its way to Gaza to end the Israeli blockade is that Italy and Spain have sent there naval warships to protect Samud Flotilla from Israeli attacks. This deeply saddens me as it wasn't Türkiye, Egypt or any other Muslim country that provided security to this Flotilla but it was Italy and Spain. My Question to all the Muslim leaders is that do you have any dignity left in yourself? I mean it wasn't you that provided security to the Flotilla which is going to Gaza in hopes of ending the blockade that has been imposed on your brother and sisters in Gaza but it was Italy and Spain. Shame on all the rulers of the Ummah. It is this non seriousness, selfishness, cowardice, shortsightedness and lack of political will of Muslim rulers that Muslims are facing genocide, poverty and oppression not just in Palestine but also in Africa, India, Kashmir and East Turkistan etc. May Allah guide our rulers!!!

Hadith no.271

Hadith Regarding Ad-Dajjal(Anti Christ)

Narrated Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri:

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) told us a long narrative about Ad-Dajjal, and among the many things he mentioned, was his saying, "Ad-Dajjal will come and it will be forbidden for him to pass through the entrances of Medina. He will land in some of the salty barren areas (outside) Medina; on that day the best man or one of the best men will come up to him and say, 'I testify that you are the same Dajjal whose description was given to us by Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) .' Ad-Dajjal will say to the people, 'If I kill this man and bring him back to life again, will you doubt my claim?' They will say, 'No.' Then Ad-Dajjal will kill that man and bring him back to life. That man will say, 'Now I know your reality better than before.' Ad-Dajjal will say, 'I want to kill him but I cannot.' " [Sahih al-Bukhari 1882]

Hadith no.272

Hadith Regarding People Most loved by Prophet Muhammad PBUH

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:

The people most loved by me from amongst my Ummah would be those who would come after me but everyone amongst them would have the keenest desire to catch a glimpse of me even at the cost of his family and wealth. [Sahih Muslim 2832]

Hadith no.273

Sahih Hadith Regarding Supplication

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the :

Messenger of Allah PBUH said: "No one among you should say: "O Allah, forgive me if You will.' Let him be definite in his asking, and no one can compel Allah." [Sunan Ibn Majah 3854]

Current Political Situation of the Ummah

The political situation of the Ummah especially our oppressed brothers in Palestine and Syria is worsening with each passing day. Israel continues its barbaric onslaught on innocent people of Gaza and now it plans to do the same in Syria. It has already occupied Golan Heights and now it is inciting sectarian violence in Syria using Druze minority against the Sunni majority of Syria. Just like Israel divided Palestine into Gaza and West Bank to control the Palestinian resistance in a better way now it intends to do the same in Syria. It intends to build a corridor named as 'David corridor' so that it can get a free passage from the Druze majority city of Suwayda to the north eastern Kurdish majority areas of Syria which are under the control of US backed SDF terror group. Muslim countries should not remain silent on this just like they have remained silent in case of Palestine. The Ummah has done a grave sin by not taking any concrete steps for the Palestinians but they should not do the same in case of Syria. Turkiye has vowed to intervene in Syria although it is too late because they should have done the same for the Palestinians as well. Muslims should not allow Syria to become an other Gaza.

The situation in Palestine is also horrifying. The famine in Gaza has reached its last stage after which mass death is certain. Israel doesn't allow aid to reach Gaza and people in Gaza including infants and elderly are dying of malnutrition and starvation. The entire Muslim Ummah especially those countries which border Palestinian territories like Egypt and Jordan should be ashamed of themselves. What is the purpose of the Wealth of the Gulf states, the Military might of countries like Pakistan, Türkiye, Iran and Egypt etc, the resources that Allah has gifted all the Muslim countries with if they can't use there resources to help there Palestinian brothers. Muslims were silent when Palestinians were being slaughtered and now Israel's ambitions have extended to Syria. All of the Ummah should come to the streets against there governments to exert pressure on them to help our Palestinian brothers by taking concrete steps like giving aid, ending diplomatic ties with Israel and supplying Weapons to the Palestinian resistance movements like Hamas and Palestine Islamic Jihad while also putting diplomatic pressure on the United States and its allies to stop helping Israel. As per the Hadith of Prophet Muhammad PBUH all the Muslims are brother to one another regardless of there ethnicity but this is an unfortunate reality that our brothers are being oppressed in Palestine, Syria, East Turkistan, Kashmir, Africa and elsewhere but the Muslim leaders do not take any concrete steps to help them. All they do is just give empty slogans which does not help. In recent days there is a rising trend of people especially from Egypt throwing bottles filled with grains in the ocean hoping that they will reach Gaza. While I do appreciate this trend of showing solidarity towards the Palestinians but we need to do much more then this. All the Muslims need to rise up to pressure there governments because if we remain silent now then we will have to face the consequences not only in this life but in the life hereafter as well. Just think about it how will we face Allah at the day of Judgement when he asks us about our oppressed brothers? Do you think that Allah Almighty will not ask us and our Muslim leaders about our silence when our Muslim brothers around the world were being oppressed?

Sahih Hadith Regarding distribution of Sacrificial Meat

Ali bin Abi Talib said :

The Messenger of Allah PBUH commanded me to take charge of (his) sacrificial camels and to distribute the skins and saddle clothes (after sacrifice) as sadaqah. He commanded me not to give anything from it to the butcher. He said we used to give it (the wages) to the butcher ourselves. [Sunan Abi Dawood 1769]

Hadith no.257

Narrated `Ali bin Abi Talib:

The Prophet Muhammad PBUH ordered me to supervise the (slaughtering) of Budn (Hadi camel) and to distribute their meat, skins and covering sheets in charity and not to give anything (of their bodies) to the butcher as wages for slaughtering. [Sahih al-Bukhari 1717]

Hadith Regarding Virtues of first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah

Hadith no.259

Sahih Hadith Regarding Virtues of first Ten days of Dhul Hijjah and the Day of Arafah(9th of Dhul Hijjah)

Jabir reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “No days are better to Allah than the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah.” A man said, “O Messenger of Allah, are they better or time spent waging jihad in the way of Allah?” The Prophet said, “They are better than time spent waging jihad in the way of Allah. No day is better to Allah than the day of Arafat. Allah descends to the lowest heaven and He boasts to the inhabitants of the heavens about the inhabitants of the earth, saying: Look at My servants, appearing disheveled and dusty! They came from every mountain pass hoping for My mercy. They do not see My punishment, yet they do not see that on no day are more saved from Hellfire than the day of Arafat.” [Sahih ibn-Hibban 3853]

Hadith no.260

Hadith regarding slaughtering an animal with a sharp knife to let it die comfortably

Shaddid bin Aus said:

Two are the things which I remember Allah's Messenger PBUH having said: Verily Allah has enjoined goodness to everything; so when you kill, kill in a good way and when you slaughter, slaughter in a good way. So every one of you should sharpen his knife, and let the slaughtered animal die comfortably. [Sahih Muslim 1955a]

Hadith no.261

Sahih Hadith Regarding Reciting Allah's name before slaughtering an Animal

Narrated Anas bin Malik:

"The Messenger of Allah PBUH slaughtered two horned male sheep which were mostly white. He slaughtered them with his hand and mentioned Allah's Name, and he said 'Allahu Akbar', and put his foot on their side." [Jami al-Tirmidhi 1494]

Hadith regarding Virtues of the Day of Arafah

A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported Allah's Messenger PBUH as saying:

There is no day when God sets free more servants from Hell than the Day of 'Arafa. He draws near, then praises them to the angels, saying: What do these want? [Sahih Muslim 1348]

Best Supplication for the Day of Arafah

The best invocation is that of the Day of Arafat, and the best that anyone can say is what I and the Prophets before me have said;

Arabic Version

لا إله إلا الله وحدهُ

لا شريك لهُ ،

لهُ الملكُ ولهُ الحمدُ

وهو على كل شيء قدير.

English Version

Lā 'ilāha 'illallāhu

waḥdahu lā sharīka lahu,

lahul-mulku wa lahul-ḥamdu

wa huwa `alā kulli shay'in qadīr.

Translation

None has the right to be worshipped, but Allah Alone, who has no partner. His is the dominion, and His is the praise, and He is able to do all things. [Hisn al Muslim 237]

Takbeer al Tashreeq

It is wajib for Hajj pilgrims and other Muslims who are not performing Hajj to recite the following takbeer known as Takbeer e Tashreeq atleast once after every Fardh Salah from Fajr of 9th of Dhul Hijah to Asr of 13th of Dhul Hijjah. It is to be recited audibly by men and softly by women.

English Version of Takbeer Al Tashreeq

Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar, La ilaha illallah, Wallahu akbar, Allahu akbar wa lillahil hamd

Translation

Allah is the greatest, Allah is the greatest. There is no god but Allah. And Allah is the greatest, Allah is the greatest, and to Allah belongs all praise.”

Message for the Ummah

Many congratulations to all the Muslims living around the world for the upcoming festival of Eid-al-Adha. May Allah accept the sacrifice of your Animal that you will do on this Eid. Eid-al-Adha doesn't mean to only sacrifice animals and eat tasty meals. It teaches us many lessons like feelings of sacrifice, humility, brotherhood, compassion and mercy etc for others. This Eid makes us realize to sacrifice our favourite things such as our life, property, wealth, etc, for the sake of Allah. Allah says in the Quran that He does not care for our flesh, but He sees our intention, whether a person is doing this act for showing off or for the pleasure of God. The passion with which we sacrifice our animals for the sake of Allah should be present in us not only on Eid-al-Adha but for the rest of the  year as well. On the occasion of this Eid, do not forget the Palestinians and all those Muslims who are being oppressed. Pray for them and if you can send them charity then do this as well while also putting pressure on the leaders of the Ummah to do something for our brothers suffering in Palestine and in other places as well.

Hadith no.250

Sahih Hadith regarding Hajj being means of getting freed from Sins

He reported God’s messenger as saying, “If anyone performs the pilgrimage for God’s sake without talking immodestly or acting wickedly, he will return [free from sin] as on the day his mother bore him.” [Mishqat al-Masbih 2507]

Hadith no.251

Hadith regarding Applying perfume before entering the state of Ihram

'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her), the wife of the Messenger of Allah PBUH, reported:

I applied perfume to the Messenger of Allah PBUH with my own hand before he entered upon the state of Ihram, and as he concluded it before circumbulating the House (for Tawaf-i-lfada). [Sahih Muslim 1189b]

Hadith no.252

Hadith regarding constantly reciting Talbiya on the morning of day of Nahr before doing Rami

Narrated Ubaidullah bin Abdullah:

Ibn Abbas said, "Usama bin Zaid rode behind the Prophet PBUH from Arafat to Al-Muzdalifa; and then from Al-Muzdalifa to Mina, Al-Fadl rode behind him." He added, "Both of them (Usama and Al-Fadl) said, 'The Prophet PBUH was constantly reciting Talbiya till he did Rami of the Jamarat-Al-Aqaba." [Sahih al-Bukhari 1687]

Rami al-Jamarat(“Stoning of the Jamarat”), sometimes referred to as the “Stoning of the Devil,” is a rite performed by Hajj pilgrims in which small pebbles are thrown at three stone structures in Mina. The act of throwing stones at the Jamarat is known as 'Rami'.

Hadith no.253

Sahih Hadith regarding raising your voice while reciting Talbiyah

Hadith no.255

Sahih Hadith regarding 3 Special guests of Allah

Abu Hurairah said:

How can the Muslim Ummah use Hajj to create unity among themselves and resolve there problems?

Congratulations to all those Muslim brothers and sisters performing Hajj this year. May Allah accept your Hajj. May Allah give those people the opportunity to perform Hajj next year who couldn't do so this year. In your prayers, don't forget the suffering of your Muslim brothers and sisters, especially the Palestinians, Kashmiris, Syrians, Uyghur Muslims, Rohingya Muslim community, Indian Muslims and the Muslims suffering in Africa and other parts of the world. You are among those people who have been granted a chance by Allah to visit his house. If we think of Hajj, then it has great significance beyond just performing certain rituals. It is a gathering of over 20 million pilgrims from different backgrounds, ethnicities, and different parts of the world. This should be taken as an opportunity to strengthen the brotherhood among Muslims. We as Muslims should use this opportunity to mobilize ourselves and solve the problems faced by the Muslim Ummah. This should be used as an opportunity to exchange ideas to resolve the challenges faced by the Ummah. We should seek help only from Allah Almighty. We should mobilize ourselves and our fellow Muslim brothers and sisters against any problem at hand faced by the Muslim world. Each pilgrim should take this opportunity to contribute to solving major challenges faced by Muslim Ummah. They should exchange ideas among themselves for the possible solutions to problems the Ummah is facing at the moment. Hajj is one of the most important pillars of Islam but resolving the problems faced by your Muslim brothers and sisters is also important. As all Muslims are brothers regardless of there ethnicities so they should exchange there personal details like phone numbers or Facebook ID etc. to keep in contact with one another so that we can help our brothers as much as we can when they are in a dire situation. If the Hajj pilgrims can take selfies of the Kaaba to record these memorable moments and make videos of themselves then I am sure they can also use this opportunity to strengthen there ties with other Muslims of various backgrounds and ethnicities to do something which will actually be beneficial for the Ummah and also make Allah happy. They can share there thoughts or views on the constantly evolving situation of the world and its impact on the Muslim Ummah. If this happens we would get closer to one another and our brotherly bond would be a force that no one would dare to recon with. We can use this power to create strong narrative on social media just like the West does and we could compete against there false narrative in a much better way.

For example, today, the biggest problem faced by the Ummah is the Palestinian issue. Just think what this gathering of over 2 million pilgrims can do for the Palestinian cause. They can raise awareness among themselves on this issue, and they can also exchange ideas and ways to urge the leaders of the Muslim Ummah to take some concrete steps for the Palestinians rather than just making statements. When these pilgrims go back to their respective countries, they can create awareness among their people. They can make the governments of their respective countries realize that issuing statements against Israel won't help that much. Just see how much West is supporting Israel, and if we compare the support of Muslim countries for Palestinians, then our support is not even 10 percent of their support for Israel. Just think how much impact it will have not only on the Muslim world but on the rest of the world too. It would help us to solve not only the Palestinian issue but all major challenges faced by Ummah such as poverty, sectarian violence, lack of education, Islamophobia, etc. It will give a message to the enemies of Islam that despite some differences, we Muslims are still united against all odds as one strong nation united by the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad SAW.

Narrated Thawban:

The Prophet PBUH said: The people will soon summon one another to attack you as people when eating invite others to share their dish. Someone asked: Will that be because of our small numbers at that time? He replied: No, you will be numerous at that time: but you will be scum and rubbish like that carried down by a torrent, and Allah will take fear of you from the breasts of your enemy and last enervation into your hearts. Someone asked: What is wahn (enervation). Messenger of Allah PBUH: He replied: Love of the world and dislike of death. [Sunan Dawood 4297]

Sahih Hadith regarding discription of Hell

Sulaim bin 'Amir narrated from Al-Miqdad, a Companion of the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) who said:

"I heard the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) saying: 'On the Day of Judgement, the sun will be drawn near the servants, until it has come a mile or two (away).'" Sulaim bin 'Amir said: " I do not know if it is miles that refer to distance on the land, or Al-Mil which is used to apply Kuhl for the eyes." He (the Prophet (s.a.w)): "The sun will melt them, until they will be in sweat according to their deeds. Among them one will be covered up to his ankles, and among them will be one who is covered up to his knees, and among them will be one who is covered up to his waist, and among them will be one who is bridled with it.' I saw the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) indicating with his hand toward his mouth, meaning that one would be bridled with it.'" [Jami Al-Tirmidhi 2421]

Hadith no.243

Hadith regarding virtues of arriving early in the Mosque for Jumma(Friday) Prayer

Narrated Abu Huraira:

Allah's Messenger (p.b.u.h) said, "Any person who takes a bath on Friday like the bath of Janaba and then goes for the prayer (in the first hour i.e. early), it is as if he had sacrificed a camel (in Allah's cause); and whoever goes in the second hour it is as if he had sacrificed a cow; and whoever goes in the third hour, then it is as if he had sacrificed a horned ram; and if one goes in the fourth hour, then it is as if he had sacrificed a hen; and whoever goes in the fifth hour then it is as if he had offered an egg. When the Imam comes out (i.e. starts delivering the Khutba), the angels present themselves to listen to the Khutba." [Sahih al-Bukhari 881]

This is a small paragraph from my article on the topic 'What Should Muslims do to help the Palestinians?'

Are Muslims too weak to confront Israel and its allies?

Then some people say that the Muslims at the moment are weak. They argue that first we should catch up with the West and then afterwards they should help the Palestinians and other Muslims around the world like in Kashmir, Xinjiang, Libya etc. They say that the Muslim Ummah at the moment is too weak and powerless to stand up against the West. Yes, there are Muslim countries that are too weak and poor but there are Muslim nations that have got the Economic and Military might to challenge the West and help their Muslim brothers. We are way more powerful at the moment than we were at the time of the Battle of Badr. At that time as well some Companions of the Prophet Muhammad SAW were poor like Abu Huraira(May Allah be pleased with him) while some were very rich like Uthman bin Affan but did that stop the Muslims from fighting the Battle of Badr and winning it? No, it didn't the only two things we are missing at the moment are Unity and Faith in Allah. We at the moment are much more powerful in terms of military, economic and in terms of manpower than we were at the time of the death of Prophet Muhammad SAW. Although we were weak as compared to now that didn't stop us from capturing two superpowers at the time i.e. the Romans and Persians. In terms of defence Turkiye, Iran and Pakistan etc have got quite formidable armies. They can use there armies in UN peacekeeping missions but not for there Palestnian brothers? One of these countries which I don't want to mention can send there armies to Libya, Syria and Iraq for eliminating terrorist but they can't send there army to Liberate Palestine. If all of the 57 countries of OIC unite then our millitary strength can increase manifold and no one would dare to kill innocent Muslims. In terms of Finance then the countries in the Gulf like Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Oman etc are probably one of the richest countries in the world and they have also got large oil reserves. They can use all there money to build massive skyscrapers, buy expensive cars, invest in multinational companies, buying expensive properties in Europe and the United States of America but can not spend this money for the liberation of Palestine. They can't put an oil embargo on the West to put pressure on them to stop aiding Israel. If you can't send your armies then you can at least use your financial power to help them with weapons.

Allah says in the Quran;

Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “If your parents and children and siblings and spouses and extended family and the wealth you have acquired and the trade you fear will decline and the homes you cherish—˹if all these˺ are more beloved to you than Allah and His Messenger and struggling in His Way, then wait until Allah brings about His Will. Allah does not guide the rebellious(immoral) people.” [Surah at-Tawbah verse no.24]

In another verse of Surah at-Tawbah Allah says;

˹O believers!˺ March forth(do Jihad) whether it is easy or difficult for you, and strive with your wealth and your lives in the cause of Allah. That is best for you, if only you knew. [Surah at-Tawbah verse no.41]

When did you see it? I said: We saw it on the night of Friday. He said: (Did) you see it yourself? I said: Yes, and the people also saw it and they fasted and Mu'awiya also fasted, whereupon he said: But we saw it on Saturday night. So we will continue to fast till we complete thirty (fasts) or we see it (the new moon of Shawwal). I said: Is the sighting of the moon by Mu'awiya not valid for you? He said: No; this is how the Messenger of Allah PBUH has commanded us. Yahya b. Yahya was in doubt (whether the word used in the narration by Kuraib) was Naktafi or Taktafi. [Sahih Muslim 1087]

We said: "What is that?" Politics, Islam and Justice

In this article, I have written about the relationship between Politics, Islam and Justice.

Islam is the religion selected by Allah Almighty for the betterment of mankind. Islam means to submit yourself to the will of Allah Almighty. Islam doesn't only mean to Pray Salah, Fast in the month of Ramada , Perform Hajj, Give Zakat and carry out certain religious rituals. Along with all these rituals Islam also has a complete Political system for the betterment of mankind. Allah sent about Hundred and Twenty-four Thousand Prophets on earth for the guidance of Mankind. The lives of all these Prophets and their rightly guided companions serve as a model for all mankind to follow but the Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad SAW are the best examples among all these Prophets for us to follow as Allah completed. Every Prophet came to guide mankind to the right path and to tell them there is only one God i.e. Allah Almighty. He is the creator and no one is his partner and only he is the one worthy to be worshipped. Here the question arises is this all for which Allah sent his Messengers for?

The point on which I am trying to emphasize here is that Allah does not need our prayers. He does not need our Zakat or Fasting. Allah did not send each of His Messengers to any particular nation just to introduce them to Allah but a very important reason for Allah send all his Messengers was to eradicate the evil that was found in their nations. For example, Prophet Noah, Prophet Lut, Prophet Moses and Prophet Isa (Jesus Christ) and rest of the Prophets to their particular nations not only to worship Allah but also to eradicate the evils found in the world at that time.

"And We certainly sent into every nation a messenger, [saying], "Worship Allāh and avoid ṭāghūt." And among them were those whom Allāh guided, and among them were those upon whom error was [deservedly] decreed. So proceed [i.e., travel] through the earth and observe how was the end of the deniers."[Quran 16:36]

Unlike the typical meaning of Politics where politicians use every tactic to win and crush their opponents and they think only of their own self interests. They do not think of others and forget the distinction between right and wrong to achieve their personal goals. They are power-hungry and have no defined set of rules or morality to do  Politics. Islam does not accept such dirty politics. Rather, in Islam, this kind of politics and political system is called pharaohism. Allah says in the Quran:

"The hypocrites, be they men or women, are all alike. They enjoin what is evil, and forbid what is good, and withhold their hands from doing good. They forgot Allah, so Allah also forgot them. Surely the hypocrites are wicked."[Quran,9:67]

The Politics of all the Prophets sent by Allah Almighty was against any tyrant that was present at that time. For example Prophet Moses resisted against Pharaoh, Prophet Daud (David) fought against Jalut etc. They all did Politics against tyranny to help the poor, the needy and the oppressed. They did this to establish Justice on Earth and to guide their nations to the right path. This is the reason that in Islam Politics is a Sunnah because to raise your voice against tyranny is what Prophet Muhammad PBUH and all other Prophets did.

This is what the companions of Prophet Muhammad SAW did and this is what the four rightly guided caliphs Abu Bakr, Umar, Usman, Ali did. Imam Hussein also did this when he embraced martyrdom while fighting the tyranny of Yazid. These are the teachings and basic principles of Islam. Islam does not allow the oppressor to oppress and the oppressed to be an oppressor. He should fight against the oppressor for his rights and for the rights of others in the same manner Imam Hussein did against the oppression of Yazid. If you see oppression and injustice happening around you and do nothing to stop it. Then you are disobeying the teachings of Islam. In the following verses of Surah-al-Shura of the Holy Quran Allah says:

"Whatever ˹pleasure˺ you have been given is ˹no more than a fleeting˺ enjoyment of this worldly life. But what is with Allah is far better and more lasting for those who believe and put their trust in their Lord;"[42:36]

"who avoid major sins and shameful deeds, and forgive when angered;"[42:37]

"who respond to their Lord, establish prayer, conduct their affairs by mutual consultation, and donate from what We have provided for them;"[42:38]

"and who enforce justice when wronged."[42:39]

The above mentioned verses of the Holy Quran prove that establishing justice is as important as praying Salah. If their is oppression and injustice taking place and you sit back doing nothing in this situation to help the oppressed then in a way you are also taking part in this oppression. Allah says in the Quran:

"And what is [the matter] with you that you fight not in the cause of Allāh and [for] the oppressed among men, women, and children who say, "Our Lord, take us out of this city of oppressive people and appoint for us from Yourself a protector and appoint for us from Yourself a helper"?"[ Quran 4:75]

A true Muslim is not the one who is  neutral. He is the one who always stands for truth no matter how bad the situation gets. This is what politics in Islam is. Allah says in the Quran:

“O you who have believed, be persistently standing firm in justice, witnesses for Allah, even if it be against yourselves or parents and relatives. Whether one is rich or poor, Allah is more worthy of both.” [Quran, 4:135]

Prophet Muhammad SAW said:

“Whosoever of you sees an evil, let him change it with his hand; and if he is not able to do so, then [let him change it] with his tongue; and if he is not able to do so, then with his heart — and that is the weakest of faith.” [Muslim Hadith 34, 40 Hadith an-Nawawi]

In another Hadith, he said:

Allah’s Apostle SAW said, “Help your brother, whether he is an oppressor or he is an oppressed one. People asked, “O Allah’s Apostle! It is all right to help him if he is oppressed, but how should we help him if he is an oppressor?” The Prophet SAW said, “By preventing him from oppressing others.”

[Bukhari]

In Islam Politics does not mean to only fight for yourself or be selfish. It doesn't mean to fight only to get power. This is what typical Politicians do. They are selfish and only do what suits their interests and do not think of others. In Islam, Politics is to put yourself to the service of mankind. Allah says in the Quran:

"You are the best community ever raised for the good of mankind—you encourage good, forbid evil, and believe in Allah. Had the People of the Book believed, it would have been better for them. Some of them are faithful, but most are rebellious." [Quran 3:110]

Allah says in the Surah An-Nahl:

Indeed, Allah commands justice, grace, as well as generosity to close relatives. He forbids indecency, wickedness, and aggression. He instructs you so perhaps you will be mindful. [Quran 16:90]

If you fight against injustice and cruelty then this is the true meaning of Politics in Islam. Fighting for the rights of others and your rights is what Islam teaches us. Helping others and Putting yourself in the service of humanity is what Islam teaches us. As Muslims, we must stand up against any injustice that is happening in front of us or in any other part of the world. It is our duty to serve mankind. Then you would be counted among those people who Allah loves the most because Allah loves those who are best to others and establish Justice.
