Hadith no.250

Sahih Hadith regarding Hajj being means of getting freed from Sins

He reported God’s messenger as saying, “If anyone performs the pilgrimage for God’s sake without talking immodestly or acting wickedly, he will return [free from sin] as on the day his mother bore him.” [Mishqat al-Masbih 2507]

Hadith no.251

Hadith regarding Applying perfume before entering the state of Ihram

'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her), the wife of the Messenger of Allah PBUH, reported:

I applied perfume to the Messenger of Allah PBUH with my own hand before he entered upon the state of Ihram, and as he concluded it before circumbulating the House (for Tawaf-i-lfada). [Sahih Muslim 1189b]

Hadith no.252

Hadith regarding constantly reciting Talbiya on the morning of day of Nahr before doing Rami

Narrated Ubaidullah bin Abdullah:

Ibn Abbas said, "Usama bin Zaid rode behind the Prophet PBUH from Arafat to Al-Muzdalifa; and then from Al-Muzdalifa to Mina, Al-Fadl rode behind him." He added, "Both of them (Usama and Al-Fadl) said, 'The Prophet PBUH was constantly reciting Talbiya till he did Rami of the Jamarat-Al-Aqaba." [Sahih al-Bukhari 1687]

Rami al-Jamarat(“Stoning of the Jamarat”), sometimes referred to as the “Stoning of the Devil,” is a rite performed by Hajj pilgrims in which small pebbles are thrown at three stone structures in Mina. The act of throwing stones at the Jamarat is known as 'Rami'.

Hadith no.253

Sahih Hadith regarding raising your voice while reciting Talbiyah

Khallad bin As-Sa'ib (bin Khalad) narrated from his father:

Who said that the Messenger of Allah said: "Jibril came to me and ordered me to order my Companions to raise their voices with the Ihlal, or; the Talbiyah." [Jami al-Tirmidhi 829]

Hadith no.254

Sahih Hadith Regarding Kissing the Black stone(al-Hajar-al-Aswad)

Abis bin Rabiah said on the authority of ‘Umar He(‘Umar) came to the (Black) Stone and said “ I know for sure that you are a stone which can neither benefit nor injure and had I not seen the Apostle of Allah  kissing you, I would not have kissed you.” [Sunan Abi Dawood 1873]

How can the Muslim Ummah use Hajj to create unity among themselves and resolve there problems?

Congratulations to all those Muslim brothers and sisters performing Hajj this year. May Allah accept your Hajj. May Allah give those people the opportunity to perform Hajj next year who couldn't do so this year. In your prayers, don't forget the suffering of your Muslim brothers and sisters, especially the Palestinians, Kashmiris, Syrians, Uyghur Muslims, Rohingya Muslim community, Indian Muslims and the Muslims suffering in Africa and other parts of the world. You are among those people who have been granted a chance by Allah to visit his house. If we think of Hajj, then it has great significance beyond just performing certain rituals. It is a gathering of over 20 million pilgrims from different backgrounds, ethnicities, and different parts of the world. This should be taken as an opportunity to strengthen the brotherhood among Muslims. We as Muslims should use this opportunity to mobilize ourselves and solve the problems faced by the Muslim Ummah. This should be used as an opportunity to exchange ideas to resolve the challenges faced by the Ummah. We should seek help only from Allah Almighty. We should mobilize ourselves and our fellow Muslim brothers and sisters against any problem at hand faced by the Muslim world. Each pilgrim should take this opportunity to contribute to solving major challenges faced by Muslim Ummah. They should exchange ideas among themselves for the possible solutions to problems the Ummah is facing at the moment. Hajj is one of the most important pillars of Islam but resolving the problems faced by your Muslim brothers and sisters is also important. As all Muslims are brothers regardless of there ethnicities so they should exchange there personal details like phone numbers or Facebook ID etc. to keep in contact with one another so that we can help our brothers as much as we can when they are in a dire situation. If the Hajj pilgrims can take selfies of the Kaaba to record these memorable moments and make videos of themselves then I am sure they can also use this opportunity to strengthen there ties with other Muslims of various backgrounds and ethnicities to do something which will actually be beneficial for the Ummah and also make Allah happy. They can share there thoughts or views on the constantly evolving situation of the world and its impact on the Muslim Ummah. If this happens we would get closer to one another and our brotherly bond would be a force that no one would dare to recon with. We can use this power to create strong narrative on social media just like the West does and we could compete against there false narrative in a much better way.

For example, today, the biggest problem faced by the Ummah is the Palestinian issue. Just think what this gathering of over 2 million pilgrims can do for the Palestinian cause. They can raise awareness among themselves on this issue, and they can also exchange ideas and ways to urge the leaders of the Muslim Ummah to take some concrete steps for the Palestinians rather than just making statements. When these pilgrims go back to their respective countries, they can create awareness among their people. They can make the governments of their respective countries realize that issuing statements against Israel won't help that much. Just see how much West is supporting Israel, and if we compare the support of Muslim countries for Palestinians, then our support is not even 10 percent of their support for Israel. Just think how much impact it will have not only on the Muslim world but on the rest of the world too. It would help us to solve not only the Palestinian issue but all major challenges faced by Ummah such as poverty, sectarian violence, lack of education, Islamophobia, etc. It will give a message to the enemies of Islam that despite some differences, we Muslims are still united against all odds as one strong nation united by the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad SAW.

Sahih Hadith regarding Sacrifice of Animals done on Eid-al-Adha and Hadith regarding things to do on the day of Arafah

In this blog, I have written Sahih Hadith regarding the sacrifice of animals done on Eid-al-Adha and Hadith regarding things to do on the day of Arafah.

 Hadith no.1

The Prophet SAW said (on the day of Eidal-Adha), "The first thing we will do on this day of ours, is to offer the (`Eid) prayer and then return to slaughter the sacrifice. Whoever does so, he acted according to our Sunna (tradition), and whoever slaughtered (the sacrifice) before the prayer, what he offered was just meat he presented to his family, and that will not be considered as Nusak (sacrifice)." (On hearing that) Abu Burda bin Niyar got up, for he had slaughtered the sacrifice before the prayer and said, "I have got a six month old ram" The Prophet SAW said, 'Slaughter it (as a sacrifice), but it will not be sufficient for anyone else (as a sacrifice after you). Al-Bara' added: The Prophet SAW said, "Whoever slaughtered (the sacrifice) after the prayer, he slaughtered it at the right time and followed the tradition of the Muslims

[Sahih Bukhari 5545]

Hadith no.2

"Sacrifice only a grown-up animal, unless it is difficult for you, in which case sacrifice a ram (of even less than a year, but more than six months' age)." [Sahih Muslim 1963]

Hadith no.3

“I heard ‘Ubaid bin Fairuz say: ‘I said to Bara’ bin ‘Azib: “Tell us of the sacrificial animals that the Messenger of Allah SAW disliked or forbade.” He said: “Allah’s Messenger SAW said like this with his hand. And my hand is shorter than his hand:* ‘There are four that will not be accepted as sacrifices: The one-eyed animal that is obviously blind in one eye; the sick animal that is obviously sick; the lame animal with an obvious limp; and the animal that is so emaciated that it is as if there is no marrow in its bones.’” He said:“And I dislike that the animal should have some fault in its ears.” He said: “What you dislike, forget about it and do not make it forbidden to anyone.” [Ibn e Majah 3144]

Hadith no.4

“The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) sacrificed two rams on the Day of ‘Eid. When he turned them to face towards the prayer direction he said: ‘Verily, I have turned my face towards Him Who has created the heavens and the earth, as a monotheist, and I am not of the polytheists. Verily, my prayer, my sacrifice, my living, and my dying are for Allah, the Lord of all that exists. He has no partner. And of this, I have been commanded, and I am the first of the Muslims. [6:79,162-163](Verse 162-163 of Surah Al-Anam)O Allah, from You to You, on behalf of Muhammad and his nation.’” [ Ibn Majah 3121]

Hadith regarding things to do on the day of Arafah.

Hadith no.5

Abu Qatadah Al-Ansari (RAA) narrated, ‘The Messenger of Allah SAW was asked about fasting on the day of Arafah (the 9th of the monthDhul Hijjah). He replied, "Fasting on the day of Arafah is an expiation for the preceding year and the following year.”[Sahih Muslim 1162]

Hadith no.6

The best invocation is that of the Day of Arafat, and the best that anyone can say is what I and the Prophets before me have said:

Lā 'ilāha 'illallāhu

waḥdahu lā sharīka lahu,

lahul-mulku wa lahul-ḥamdu

wa huwa `alā kulli shay'in qadīr.

None has the right to be worshipped, but Allah Alone, who has no partner. His is the dominion, and His is the praise, and He is able to do all things. [Hisn al Muslim 237]

Hadith no.7

There is no day when God sets free more servants from Hell than the Day of 'Arafa. He draws near, then praises them to the angels, saying: What do these want? [Sahih Muslim 1348]

Hadith no.8

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “There are no days on which good deeds are greater or more beloved to Allah than on these ten days, so recite much Tahleel (saying Laa ilaaha ill-Allah), Takbeer (saying Allahu akbar) and Tahmeed (saying al-hamdu Lillaah),” or similar words [Al-Masnad]

Takbeer a Tashreeq

It is wajib for Hajj pilgrims and other Muslims who are not performing Hajj to recite the following takbeer known as Takbeer e Tashreeq atleast once after every Fardh Salah from Fajr of 9th of Dhul Hijah to Asr of 13th of Dhul Hijah. It is to be recited audibly by men and softly by women.

English Version of Takbeer al Tashreeq

Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar, La ilaha illallah, Wallahu akbar, Allahu akbar wa lillahil hamd

Translation

Allah is the greatest, Allah is the greatest. There is no god but Allah. And Allah is the greatest, Allah is the greatest, and to Allah belongs all praise.”

Message to the Ummah

May Allah accept your sacrifice done on this Eid. Eid-al-Adha doesn't mean to only sacrifice animals and eat tasty meals. It teaches us many lessons like feelings of sacrifice, humility, brotherhood, compassion and mercy etc for others. This Eid makes us realize to spend our favourite things such as our life, property, wealth, etc, for the sake of Allah. Allah says in the Quran that He does not care for our flesh, but He sees our intention, whether a person is doing this act for showing off or for the pleasure of God. The passion with which we sacrifice our animals for the sake of Allah should be present in us not only on Eid-al-Adha  but it should be present in us for the whole year. On the occasion of this Eid, do not forget the Palestinians and all those Muslims who are oppressed.
